i have a 2006 trailblazer. The key was put in the door lock and just spins around in a circle and will not catch to unlock.

Most likely the locking solenoid in the door lock is stripped. Did you try the passenger door lock? Same thing? or does the key catch? Does the lock look tampered with? It may have been punched in an attempt to steal the vehicle. Long story short, call a lock smith and have them swap out the door lock. Best of luck!
