Why does My check engine light flashing?

My Tahoe light
starts blinking
when I go over
30mph; my oil
gauge fluctuates
when idling

A flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and damaging the catalytic converter! Most likely a tune up will fix that. The oil gauge fluctuating at idle probably means you're low on oil, dangerously low! So check your oil level right away!! Hope that helps! Jim

The check engine light comes on when you need to check the engine. It’s self explanatory well to most people anyway.
