What's the minimum amps on an
alternator for a Lincoln 2004
Navigator to start the motor

Minimum amps required 110 which is the output of the following factory alternators: 2L7U- 10300-AA, 2L7U-10300-BA, 2L7U-10300-BB, 2L7Z-10346-AA, 2L7Z-10346-BA, 2L7Z- 10346-BB. Aftermarket alternators to replace these models go as high as 220 amps but some times they can overcharge the system and create a problem. I never like to go over the factory specification.

The alternator has nothing directly to do with starting the car. All it does is charge the battery.
