Could be the window regulator (motor). Can you hear the motor inside the door trying to work? If you can get the window up an inch or so, grasp the edge with your thumb and forefinger - pulling up while someone presses the up button. If you can feel the window motor trying to assist, change the regulator/motor.

I hear absolutely nothing. No sounds of motor or anything at all.

Then you'll have to get out the multi meter and check for voltage at the motor/regulator when the button is pushed. If no voltage, move up to the switch on the door and check there. If voltage at the motor when button is pushed, replace motor.
