Having problem with temporary loss of power. Radio, lights go off for a second

Asked by BobI Aug 28, 2009 at 04:17 PM about the 2007 Mazda MAZDA3 s Grand Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving, radio and lights go off and all the idiot lights come on for just a second and then everything goes back to normal. This happens sporatically, it could be weeks in between occurances. Also when this is happening if I stop, the car will stall. Dealership can't figure out what's wrong, they recalibrated the computer, it didn't do it for 2 months but now it's back. Sometimes this happens when I flash the brights or use my turn signals. On rare occasions when this happens I lose power steering for several minutes, that has only happend twice. The car has 50,000+ miles so I'm no longer covered under warranty. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?

Just had the back screen do that to me today for the first time. I only have 27,000 miles. Off and on while driving. No warning lights or anything.
