Will replacing 1st/front band in transmission fix driving forward AND reverse?

Asked by Guru95D6YK Dec 28, 2020 at 12:43 PM about the 2008 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car lost reverse first. Then transmission made a
noise and lost forward gears. Unplugged battery.
Put battery back on and still no reverse but forward
engaged for a minute then made noise and quit.
Possible solutions appreciated.
