When brakes get hot from long period of stop and go driving,

Asked by eyeone Jul 25, 2014 at 10:04 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox LS FWD

Brake peddle gets higher until the FRONT brakes are on solid.Had the front calipers
replaced, ABS pressure module / computer replaced and programmed. what other
possibilities, brake line collapse or mechanical half of ABS, doesn't seem like the master
cylinder could be the issue.   I have heard of the brake line collapsing and not allowing the
fluid to return to the reservoir. I have been to 4 mechanics with no final solution.

Check out this site:http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Complaint/2007/Chevrolet/Equinox/Hydraulic+Brake I guess it has a bad track record for brake problems. You may be looking at a new master cylinder or traction control module. It seems like the dealers don't have any idea. They just seem to replace random parts.
