Why My Truck won't start?

Asked by Judy May 28, 2021 at 01:26 PM about the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE2 Crew Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm having a problem with my 07 GMC 2 wheel drive.
It was running just right the other day I was leaving the
store and it just cuts off on me... I turn my key and it
wouldn't start , so I figured maybe my gas was to low.. so I
had gas put in and still nothing. I changed my Fuel pump
thinking that was the problem but it's not. I still can't
figure out out what the problem is. Any ideas on what it
could be ?

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. How long since a tune-up? If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs--use a gage and check proper fuel pressure--check fuel injector pulse. Check applicable trouble codes? those are the basic checks, in my opinion. If your missing everything, spark--fuel--injector pulse, look for an rpm signal, that should come come from crank sensor. Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction. good luck
