I am purchasing a 2007 pilot and wanted to know if I should go with the Honda hitch and all the add-ons or buy a after
market hitch for 200 or so. The Honda hitch with the transmission cooler, power steering cooler, wiring harness, labor
and tax. Will cost around 1200 bucks. quite a bit to spend on a hitch. I will be towing a 3000lbs boat with the car is
why I need the hitch.

i have neva trusted aftermarket parts on my cars except like injen intakes n magnaflow exhausts otha wises its always hfp (honda factory performances) but if u want quality go wit the dealer parts...it all depends on you
I bought my 2003 Pilot new and had the dealer add on the hitch which included all the goodies (the transmission cooler, wiring harness, labor , etc.). I was not sure what I would be towing and I really haven't used it for much other than putting a bike rack on every weekend or so. I have also rented some trailers for hauling small loads less than 2000. I probably wasted my money. However, in your case where you know you will be towing a 3000 lb boat, I would spend the 1200. That is cheap insurance that you won't damage your transmission, etc. Good luck, Bob
