2007 GMC Yukon - LED Radio display quit working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radio still works, but the red LED display has gone out.  It came on a few days ago after I had driven about ten miles, but is off again.  Any ideas on what needs to be replaced?

The LEDs inside the display can fail- I had them fail on my 2003 Aztek and I had the radio replaced under warranty. Every once in awhile with the right bump, the resistor or diodes will, to use a better word " reconnect" and it will work for awhile but you will either need to replace the radio or deal with no display. I have heard of this happening in many lines of GM cars and trucks. Im sure it happens in other makes, but GM is all I care about and have for a long time now. So far, the radio in my 2008 Sierra is perfect.

It is amazing that engineers actually think a powered light with a limited life span will last better than a printed display.
