How often should the timing belt be replaced?
My 2003 Acura TL has 200,000 miles on it. We've had it since it had 35,000
miles and have never replaced the timing belt. How crucial is it that we do
this? The car runs great day in and day out.
Very crucial to get it changed ASAP! It is way over due. Every 60,000 miles is a safe time for replacement.
You need everything changed for the timing belt, like belt tensioners, idler pulleys, timing belt guides, and the water pump. The timing belt runs the water pump.
Wow 200k miles, Get it changed.
I just purchased a 2010 Honda Acura RDX with 90000 miles on it. Do I need to be concernd?
I would, see if there is a sticker under hood on timing belt cover stating it has been changed and what mileage it was or see if you have any service records. If this was bought at a used car lot assume said used car dealer did nothing they did not have to do.
Im at 110k in my 08 tl base ive been quoted 765 for TB/WP/SB
2003 TL @ 350K have not replaced a timing belt or water pump!
