Hello, I just had a very similar problem with an older Volvo. I paid $700 to my usual mechanic to fix an ABS problem, but it stalled again. I *hate* taking my car to dealers, but in this case I had no chioce. I brought the car in and requested a diagnostic. They are thereby able to find the error codes to help with the fix. They fixed a problem I would never have suspected, and the car has been running great since, including a 1500-mile treck from Boston to Tampa. Best of luck CarGrrl
