2006 Subaru Impreza electrical problem

Asked by James Mar 19, 2016 at 10:05 PM about the 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

an on going issue I have had is that the e
break light, abs light, and battery light all
surge on along with all of the lights my car.
Just the past couple weeks though the
lightbulb from my head lights will blow
after one of these episodes. Then the next
day it will be fine. I cannot figure it out nor
can anyone even direct me to what it might
be. I have checked alternator, belt, belt
tension, ground wires, battery, battery
cables, battery connections, and all
connections relative to the alternator.
Please help.

Yes I had been putting duralast alternators in it and apparently the car is extremely sensitive to any alternator other than a Subaru one. Just make sure you get an official Subaru alternator in it and it should be fine
