if you are losing oil and there are no apparent leaks (I assume you have left it running for a while on a relatively clean surface and looked underneath afterwards) then it is either going into the water or out of the exhaust. get someone else to blip the throttle whilst you stand behind the car and look for blue white smoke. do that from cold and from hot

I know this is old, but thought I should clarify. 2004 Saab 9-3 are all turbo in the United States. It is common for the seals on a turbo to wear out and the oil to go directly into the intake. Taking the tube off of your turbo on the rear of the car or the throttle body will tell you, as it will have oil present.
