ABS and Airbag lights

Asked by lisas Nov 16, 2010 at 05:37 PM about the 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 64,000 miles on my 2003 9-3 convertible.  Seems in the past few weeks it has started "falling apart".  I have the ignition switch on order to be replaced, plastic cover under the gear shift broke off.  Last week engine light was on (went off by itself, not yet to return).  Battery died and was replaced. Today the ABS and the Airbag lights are on.  Not sure what is going on.  Anyone?

The first place I would check is the fuse box. If you've replaced the battery, there is a small chance that when the new one was hooked up there could have been a short or a power serge that could have damaged some fuses. Also check all of the connectors, if one or more is unplugged a light may come on from a sensor. There could also be a wire that is cut and shorting out.

have it scaned, when you replace a battery it will cause ses lights,it may be nothing wrong com probly needs to be reset.

Check fuses, then get it scanned. My assumption is that , the airbag's packedge have to been replace . And that is shit expensive ( Worst case) ABS light might be the braking pad is starting to get worn, so they will have to be replaced
