Transmission

Asked by Drex Jul 04, 2018 at 11:59 PM about the 2005 Audi A4 3.2 quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter has a little A4 she been running around to high school with but
now it's having a problem with the clutch, I think. This is were I could uses
your help. When I hit the gas the RPMs come up, it will down shift but the car
doesn't go any where. It will increase the speed about 10 miles an hour and
that's at 5500 to 6000 RPMs. When I let the gas peddle off it takes a second
or two then it will shift and pick up a little more speed.
I'm a fair to partly shitty back yard mechanic but have know idea about the
quattro  transmission. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm guessing this is an automatic trans. If so it may be low on fluid. It could do a lot of damage to run it. To add fluid you would need a pump and a special tool. it goes in from the bottom.
