1991 Buick Skylark Iron Duke

Asked by Arjeje Apr 02, 2021 at 08:52 AM about the 1991 Buick Skylark Sedan FWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1991 Buick skylark that is an
incredible condition inside and out,
however the motor has a cracked
block. Would it be possible for me to
put in a D6 instead of fixing the iron
Duke? Also, is the iron Duke block
made of iron or aluminum?

If you really love the car and have the money to spend you can install a 3.0 or 3.3 V6.

Any particular year I should look for? Would it bolt right up to the transaxle? Exhaust? Electronics?

The same year would be best. I think you could make anything up to 95 work as long as it is OBD1. Obviously the exhaust would not work. I would not attempt such a swap unless you are an experienced mechanic or you have at least 5+ grand to spend.
