Just spent $700 on my 1997 buick for part and labor for fuel pump and its already wont start

My old car had not been driven in a few months and it would not start. Got a
new battery still wont start. My regular mechanic had me to ahve it towed to
his home= $300 for the fuel pump + $300 fir labor. I drove it once and my
friend drove it down to put air in the tires. it stopped running again. Had to
have iot towed home and then towed back to the guys house. Now he says
there is white mold? around the gas tank and the gas tank need to be
replaced.

You need to find a new mechanic.......if it has "white mold" (whatever that is) he should have seen that when he replaced the fuel pump. Did he replace the fuel filter when he did the fuel pump? Should have. Gas tanks can be cleaned.....don't know if your car has a plastic or metal gas tank but either can be cleaned. I have seen one metal tank that was rusting on the inside and that looked like "coffee grounds" and that plugged the filter and damaged the fuel pump

My buick lesabre wont crank or turn at all.. just replaced the starter and I have a new battery and its full of power.. also did a bypass with the starter sylonoid and wouldnt start just run.Whatnext? 4 Answers

I ran a wire manually from the starter sylonoid to another sylonoid right next to it and all it was doing was cranking and not igniting. (Just turning)while the key was on the on position.
