Selling car; Title signing info

Asked by Ashley Nov 07, 2020 at 10:49 PM about the 2005 Buick LaCrosse CX FWD

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

When signing over a title does it have to be notarized? if you cannot go to the
title bureau? I am selling to someone from Michigan, a different state than my
own.

Check your state DMV and the Michigan DMV websites.

The buyer should tell you if they need the title notarized.

No, that is not required. I was just on Michigan's DMV website. You must fill out your information on the back of your title as the seller, including the odometer reading, sign the title, and give it to the buyer. It says nothing about the title needing to be notarized. Hope that helps! Jim
