2002 Chrysler Town & Country Limited Speed

Asked by Klayton Jul 29, 2020 at 10:50 PM about the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country LX LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know this is a faster speed than you think you'd need a
minivan for, but just bear with me.
When you get this old 2002 T&C up to about 95mph, it
won't go any faster and the inside (cab) starts to get hot.
Im not the smartest when it comes to the mechanical side
of cars. What would be causing this?

The more power you use the more heat the engine produces. Pushing an old T&C like that is suicidal (for the engine). Maybe for you too!

I figured it was something wrong in the engine, not getting all the power. I have the suicidal part covered. All of the brake pads just disintegrated when I bought her, 3rd row seat doesn't fit so it bounces up n down, no e-brake, no brake to back right wheel... master cyl was even out when I drove it home. We're stupid, we know.
