2007 saturn ion power steering

Having trouble with the power steering on my 2007 Ion
When I make a turn, mostly left is the worst, I have to physically turn the
wheel back our my car will keep going in the direction that I turned. Some
people say it's the motor one mechanic said that when he had the car on the
hoist he turned the steering wheel and that it seemed to be catching on
something. when I drove it after a heavy rain the steering was fine for about
a week. I have had this problem for about two months and it's getting worse

It has electric power steering - no fluid the PS fails and it gets VERY hard to steer See a GM dealer - they have a program to replace bad units at no charge to you
