2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Key Remote

Asked by Aug 03, 2017 at 02:48 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My remote for my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix
was working pretty well about a month, all
of a sudden, the remote just stopped
working all together, I thought the battery
just died, so I bought a new one and
replaced it, but it still won't work. Any idea
why that might be?

Check that the battery holder in your key fob hasn't broken away from the circuit board. That's very common on some models. It can be resoldered if it has. Also, there's a receiver module on the body of the car that can fail. As well as replacing it I believe there's some reprogramming required which may need to be done by a dealership.
