Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 pontiac g6. just bought 12 days ago started fine both with key and remote start. has started several times over the days even up until sunday, today the temprature droped to about 8 degrees. cylinoid clicks but doesn't turn engine. lights are bright inside and out. read up about cables getting electrolysis and messing with the continuity of the conductor causing fluxuation in the circuits.

I would clean and tighten the battery connections for starters. Make sure the new battery is the correct size, ones that are too small won't cut it in cold weather.

Thank you Mark for your replies. It is a series and will repeat with the remote until it defaults after it's two attempts and continue until i release the key if i try with the key. All signs are pointing with your additional input to "battery/cable" related. As an added note when i bought the car, there was an old battery in the trunk, I think it had more cranking amps than what is in there now. I just find it funny that in the warmer weather it kicked it over no problem and i don't even get a sickly attempt now. Maybe it is some new fandangled regulator as to save on starters. (I say that because as far as years go its the newest car i've ever owned lol, though i've bought year old cars back in the early 90;s) Again, thanks for the helpful input.

End resolution was that my battery was just so drained from my few attempts and the 'tests' others must have done while it was on the lot. Took it for a long drive so the alternator could charge it up and haven't had an issue since. thanks again for the input. It started snowing recently so I've got a new question for a new thread.
