Where is the fuse and which one is it, for the air suspension compressor on my 2007 X5?

What is going on the system on your vehicle? The compressor is controlled by relays which is controlled by the EHC module.

My X5 has a sagging rear left suspension spring. I can hear air escaping at the wheel arch and the onboard computer has generated a warning. In order to get the car to a mechanic, I need to drive it for about an hour but I don't want to damage the compressor which runs continuously while trying to pressurise the spring. So if I remove the fuse which supplies the compressor, I'm back on the road. Temporarily at least. I've located the fuse boards, but I've no idea which fuse controls the compressor.

Most likely your air spring is leaking and will need to be replaced, easy job for DIYer. I would unplug the module it is called EHC and located on the right rear of the vehicle behind the carpeted cover by the tail gate. The module should be labeled EHC on it.

Robert many thanks for taking the time to answer my query. Perhaps my European X5 is different.....but when I remove the access panel you refer to, all I'm looking at is an array of different coloured fuses with their amperage s written on them. Nothing else. No plain text or acronyms or lets of any description to indicate what services they are linked to. So I don't know which one is the EHC fuse. Do you have the fuse layout diagram perhaps? Or can you direct me to it? Regards. Keith.
