If the timing chain broke the engine would not run at all. You have an ignition timing issue.

Has new ignition control module, cap , rotor, plenty of spark so far it times out at top dead center as far as you can without running timing marks line up

Turning the distributor 180 degrees was probably not the best idea. How to time a TBI engine ------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6TFXIZ6dyk

Probably not but you can't timie it out with timing light if she don't run. This motor is still original so I'm lost do to the fact that it has computer aidded timing. So I'm not sure exactly what to look at . So electric timing mechanical timing and or vacuum advance ( prefer but an option I don't think)

Replace the distributor cap and rotor. Or lightly scuff the points inside the cap to shine er up and that'll get ya to the Partshou$e
