My 2007 Volkswagen Passat will not start

Same. disconnected battery after accidentally shorting the battery while wiring auxiliary lights. when i reattached the battery, inserted the key in the ignition, all lights etc work, but when i push the key in to start, nothing happens. the battery tests good
