Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi everyone, I’m currently a student automotive technician and am having
trouble with changing the idler pulley on my 2007 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5. I had
just changed the belt last week with new pulleys in my class but I had a
devastating incident where a roll of tape I left under my hood shredded the
belt and all the pulleys.. lesson learned. Now the pulley I am trying to get off
requires a t40 bit and quite a bit of leverage to break. The problem is I
stripped the star completely to where a t40 slides off and a t45 only fits on the
outside portion,( Won’t grip). I can’t hammer a bit on because I only have
about the width of my hand to work in there. I am wondering if anyone knows
any alternate methods to getting this stripped fastener out.  I am willing to try
anything my dad wants to tow the car to a shop which I refuse to do over a
fastener.
