1995 Subaru impreza

I want to replace the shocks on my 95 impreza with something to give it more
clearance. I've heard forester xt shocks work but is there a certain year? or is
there a better option?

Shocks alone will not lift the car. Google "Subaru lift kit" and see what comes up. I would think that XT suspension might be lower, not higher.
