my 2007 Suburban oil pressure gage stopped working and now I have a check engine light on. Simple fix?

Could be easy fix. Maybe sending unit. Does the gauge show nothing, O oil pressure, or low? Is it a gauge that actually shows psi of oil pressure?
Have you check your oil level?
Beat me with a stick. I should have thought of that. Thanks dandy. But in every picture the sending unit is in the back of the engine.
DavidH25- The Gage shows nothing, as if it is dead, How do I replace/ repair the sender? Dandyoun- The Oil level is fine
in case that one gets deleted, that happens a lot
How difficult is it to replace the sender?
Sure glad to hear that oil level is ok.
Just unhook wire (assuming it's attached) , unscrew old one, thread the new one in, not too tight, it looks like one of those crush washer seals attach wire ......click those pictures they will get bigger
Thank you DavidH25!!! I really appreciate your help. This is gonna be a pain because it is in the rear of the engine and hard to reach. Do I need a special wrench for the unit?
No, no special wrench, an open end or 12 point box end if it will fit over the top...looks like it will hopefully will break it lose, but I see what you mean about it being way in the back, those pictures make it look easier than it will be..with engines disassembled like they are, but there is always a way, maybe a crow's foot socket
Guys,, Per my dealer (I have the same scenario) this is a bad sensor which kills the oil pressure gauge?
Hi everyone I have a 2007 yukon denali I just change my sensor and my oil gauge still don't work
That's because under the sensor there is a screen that is probably plugged, more than likely the sensor is fine, but either way the screen has to be cleaned. Pull the Sensor, then remove the screen from the hole and clean it. no easy task, I'm starting mine in about an hour. If not, $475 at the dealer for them to do it.
I BOUGHT A 2007 SUBURBAN WITH 109K 9 MONTHS AGO AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT HAS COME LIKE 8 TIMES AND I TAKE OUT THE OIL MEASURER STICK AND CLEAN IT AND PUT IT BACK ON AND THE LIGHT GOES OFF. THEN THE GAUGE READS THE OIL.
