Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Some type of critter gnawed through a wire or wires on my 2007 Ford
Freestyle. The wire(s) are located against the right fender between the under
hood main fuse block and the air receiver port. The car will not attempt to
start. Can this wire(s) be spiced or will I need to replace it entirely? Thanks.

Yes, it can be spliced back together. The method I prefer is to strip back insulation exposing about 1" of wire. Before twisting together and soldering the wire, slip a length of heat-shrink tubing over one end. Then after the wire is soldered, slide the shrink tubing over it and hit it with a heat gun. That will give you a mice water-proof connection. http://www.instructables.com/id/Soldering-Tutorial-Inline-Splicing/
