Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All other gears are fine it only happens to 4th gear, if you wait a few seconds and let the rpm's drop before shifting it will go into gear with no noise.I am supprised to be having transmission problems with only 75000 km on the car. Any idea's?

Well it sounds like the 4th gear synchro is bad. The synchro is used on light truck and passenger vehicle manual transmissions to make a smooth shift by making the gears mesh easier. that would be my guess with only 75k miles on the vehicle. If it was grinding when shifting into fouth and also popping out of gear by itself then you know your fourth gear is shot. Then you need a rebuild, new tranny, or learn to skip fourth.
