96 SL2 short

Asked by Kennith Jun 22, 2018 at 08:51 PM about the 1996 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SL2 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to figure out a short. Battery has been
replaced as well as replacing the ignition switch.
After killing the car the several systems come back
on including temp gauge, battery indicator, oil light,
and service engine light. The problem seems
intermittent.  Any ideas?

Sounds like a corroded/ loose main connection whether it be power or ground

I think you might be on to something there, pulled connections under hood and in dash and have been monitoring the car every hour and so far so good. I got it when dad passed about 8 years ago with a blown motor, put a new motor in and been driving it ever since. She takes care of me so I try and do good by her. Thanks for the input my friend.

Ha same here but nothing in this world is simple, however the hard stuff is well worth it. Just did another check and all good so far. To some she's a simple car but she's always taken me home.
