Brakes went straight to floor...replaced a broken brake line ..bled brakes and still no pressure. Any Ideas?

Had the car for 18 months never leaked any brake fluid before..and never
had to add any brake fluid until now. There was a fluid on the ground near
rear of vehicle after that scary ride home. Replaced the broken line and
bled brakes in the correct order and still no pressure on brakes although
the parking brake does work Not driving it. Any ideas don't really want to
start replacing alot of parts if need not too. The car is 22 years old and has
139,000 miles and has been very reliable. Thanks

Is it possibly a vacuum problem? I kinda had the same problem, but I only expereinced no pressure when the car got hot and idled erratically. I conditioned the vaccum hose that feeds that brake vacuum whatchacallit and replaced some bad tubing throughout the car. The issues seem to have resolved themselves.

I have a 1998 Saturn SL2 that the braking has for the most part gone out. I've replaced the master cylinder and bled the brakes. However when I turn on the ignition, the brakes go to the floor. When I pump to build pressure, it doesn't change anything even for a second. When I park the car, bleed the brakes again there is no air coming out (only fluid). I'm at a loss. Saturn mechanic said that it can't be the booster as they are built to last to the junk yard. 12 Answers

As stated above, my daughter's 1998 Saturn SL2 is currently experiencing some braking issues. She has the apply the brakes to the floor to stop it at all and it takes about 10 to 20 feet to stop it ...

While driving the brake pedel lost all tension and went to the floor. Brake fluid full. No leaks whatsoever. Have never had this problem before. And i belive it is two wheel drive since its a stick. 10 Answers
