I am a brand new owner of an '02 Saturn L300 (67,000miles) and after my first trip home I smelled gas! I googled it and on another site there were about 10 complaints questioning this exact same thing. A few different answers were given as a cause. I had the car inspected by a trusted mechanic before purchasing it and will be bringing it back to him asap to ask for his analysis on what it could be. The last owner on the previous site, was thinking the same thing as I was while reading the multitude of Saturn owners stating the "EXACT SAME PROBLEM". That Saturn should be held responsible for this "common" mechanical issue/defect and reimburse those who have had to get this "common Saturn issue" fixed. Isn't their any safe guard in place for matters like this? Just wondering

My L200 was like that was well, and when I got in the car I could smell gas. I went to get an oil change and the guy told me I had a gas leak coming from the bottom of the car

The fuel filter can be on its way out. My 2001 Saturn has the fuel filter under.tye the passengers side about 1/2 way down the length of the car. If it smells really strong there - it's fuel filters replacement time. Fuel filter cost me $19.
