2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Lariat 146,000 miles. Parked in parking space at work. Went out to truck to go home and would not start. Had to have it towed to local repair shop. They tried it and it started. I said please keep trying because it starts and sometimes (at the most needed times, it want crank). They finally got it not turn over. They said it was fuel pump. I just had fuel pump put on at PepBoys 2 months ago to this exact date. So I dug out my receipt and had the truck taken to them. It is there now. I guess I will write back when and IF they find out what the heck it is. I have read about 350 different reviews and the majority of them that has very similar issues with Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi's sold in the mid 2000's, says it was either the fuel pump, starter, solenoid wiring burnt out, or solenoid switch, or ignition switch or ignition cylinder. So far I have had all of those replaced. The ignition cylinder/ and switch and 2 new keys made was 980.00 at the Dodge place in FWB, FL. The fuel pump was 318 for the part they put on just to give idea of what it cost when you have to rely on auto mechanics and when you do not know how to fix yourself. It is rough. I think I have spent nearly 10k on truck in past 2 years. Love the old 2007 truck. Just over time everything breaks down. I have read and heard that brand spanking NEW ones have lots of problems too. So, what to do? Keep fixing the old worn out truck, COSTING OUT THE BOOTY, BUT without truck note? Or, take a chance and buy brand new truck and have 900.00 a mo note, BUT, be able to get it fixed when under warranty at dealership, but insurance way higher????? You still miss time from work and a pain to keep dropping it off and getting rides back home and back to repair shop to get it worked on. I really thought life would get easier as we age. It is just the opposite. Everything bad seems to happen all at once.......Whewwwwwwww!!!!!
