Fuel on sparks plugs

Asked by Robertosterk Dec 21, 2015 at 01:38 PM about the 2001 GMC Sonoma SLS Extended Cab Short Bed 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took off the spark plugs and several of the
six spark plugs had fuel dripping out of
them. The truck doesn't want to start.

Your truck is flooding. If you wait a few hours for the fuel to evaporate the truck may start. That said you have a problem with too much fuel. It is possibly leaking fuel injector(s).

I did replace the spark plugs and it still won't start. Thanks for your answer "full of regrets". Can it also be the intake manifold gasket? I am assuming the injectors come first though so what should I look for to see if it's the injectors?

Are you getting spark? I doubt it is the intake manifold gasket. If it were bad you would have a vacuum leak, not too much fuel.
