Throttle sticking sounds nonsensicle m8 bearing in mind as i said previously it happens when the clutch is depressed between changing gear even if the throttle is redundant throught the process.

No, I don't know why- if the engine is racing, it very well might be doing it while it is IN gear, under load, also- you would only notice it when you go to shift- this could be due to a worn throttle position sensor or any of the myriad engine control sensors that are on that car- your car is 15 years old, and those modern Jags are not the most reliable cars, anyway- my Jaguar Crystal Ball is currently in the shop, getting a major overhaul, so why not just take it to your mechanic, and ask-

If the throttle sticks at (pick a place) say 33% open and you depress the clutch and it stayed at 33% open - the dam car will increase rpm! So of course a sticky throttle could CONTRIBUTE. @Mark - good....@jamnblues - I think you just told an Englishman that his Jag was a piece of engineering s.- dam savage Yank.:)
