jaguar s type error code P0304. What is this code?

The code means that cylinder 4 is misfiring. It does not really solve the problem but you know where to look.

swatch around the coils from 1 to 4 if the code come back as p301 then you have a bad coil but if you still get p304 the check the spark plug and change all spark if need. If that doesn't solve the problem then you might have bigger problem like bad rings etc...
