Looking for help

This is a very common problem on GM vehicles. The security system is notoriously known to fail. Basically when you insert your key, the system checks for a certain signal. If the system cannot get the correct signal from the key, it assumes the key is incorrect or you are attempting to hotwire it. The system then goes into SECURITY lockout mode. (prevents vehicle theft) This will either turn off the starter, or the fuel injectors. This has been happening with GM's for a very long time. There are ways to bypass this now. Thanks ima try that now but I don’t have a chip in my key

Does that matter ?

yes it does. The "chip" in those is nothing more than a resistor. The key looks like an Old school GM style key except for a little black square with what looks like a thin piece of metal in it. Those become worn (don't make contact) or the wire in the column becomes frayed and breaks (causing the same issue) If you try and start the car and a lite on your dash "pass key" lites up and stays on the key or the wire in the column is the trouble. I would by pass it because getting into the column (if you have air bags) is a pain. (been there done that)
