Is alternator bad ??

Removed positive cable
from battery while engine
running .....motor dies !!
Should that happen r isnt
motor supposed to stay
running if alternator is
working properly  !?

Many cars will die when you remove the battery cable. Removing the battery cable while the engine is running can damage your electrical system so don't do that.

That was an "OLD SCHOOL" way of checking your alternator But not a good idea on a modern car. Here is the right way. Get a volt meter (digital) and start the car up with a good fully charged battery. Now measure the voltage at the battery. You should have between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. Anything less indicates that the alternator is not charging the battery and you should replace it.
