lock cylinder doesn't keep car running

I replaced a Lock. Cylinder in the car car
runs only when u start the car and pull key
back a little i let go it stops

I had a similar problem. I replaced the ignition switch, Refer to www.gmpartsdirect.com and follow the search engines to the part NO. 2. The part is located and runs along the left side of the steering column.

It may just be out of adjustment. The key cylinder turns a link that goes to the actual switch. Most of these switches are located on the lower steering column near the brake pedal. You can loosen the screws and move the switch up (it might have been hit by your foot)
