Cruise control not working?

My cruise control is not working anymore. It use to work
perfect up until awhile ago the cruise would turn on but I
would have to press the set button a couple time to turn on.  
Then the cruise would turn on still but the set button does
not work anymore, still clicks but doesn't set. Now I just
tried to turn my cruise on and it doesn't work anymore. My
brake lights work fine. Please help me. Thanks!

Could be that that set button has gone bad. from what you said, it seems that it's been going out for a long time. Just replace it, but that's expensive because you've got to replace the stalk too.
