PLEASE HELP ME!!! What type of vacuum lines and or hoses are under alternator area

Asked by Paul Aug 03, 2017 at 07:56 PM about the 2007 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 mercedes c230 sport with

I recently replaced the alternator And radiator hoses due a
bad alternator. I also changed the radiator hoses because
there was a leak. While changing out the alternator, I
dropped it twice on the hoses or vacuum lines that are
below it and that's the reason I replaced the lower radiator
hose.

I never had transmission issues or any other issues prior.

When I started my car, white smoke came from exhuast
when pressing gas pedal.  The car will not move when or
drive or forward, reverse, or any gear selected. The rpms go
to 3000 then right back to 0. The car will jolt an inch
forward or in reverse when it hits 2500rpms and wont do
anything else.

The codes are for misfires in cylinder 4,5,&6 and code for
gear ratio being off.

These codes were not present prior to alternator
replacement.

I have read for days all the threads relating near my issues
and no such luck.

Im at a loss.

could be many different things, first check the shift selector or if there is a shifter cable connected to the transmission, its most likely electrical/wiring problem and not a vacuum problem (your car will still drive and go forward and reverse with a vacuum leak)

Thank you fadi. I took it to a mechanic to have codes reset out of limp mode. Everytime they cleared them in went right back into limp mode. They gave up because they wanted to change out transmission. So its back home and still sitting.
