Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I want to sell my car but the title is under my husband's
name.  He passed away a month and a half ago.  Is there
anything special I need to do in order to sell it

Did you use an estate attorney or have a will?

No. There was no will and I don't have an estate attorney. Also the car is fully paid for. Thanks

Very sorry for your loss! Laws vary from State to State. The best thing to do is contact your local DMV agency or an attorney in your area. They will be best able to advise you on this. Hope that helps! Jim

NC titles must be notarized so no sneaky dealings. You will have to do it the right way and get the title in your name.

Ed, signing the husband's name would be illegal. If the wife's name is on the title that is sufficient for her to sign, but an attorney is likely required if her name is not on the title.
