How can I reset the computer sensor module to turn off my many lights?

Asked by hwoody Jul 17, 2015 at 09:21 AM about the 2007 Suzuki SX4 Convenience AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

These lights stay on check engine, airbag light, awd auto and lock light. I had a recall
on my passenger seat because of the airbag light. Shortly after my airbag light came
on for the driver side then check engine light. This winter I slid into a snow back but no
damage. Days later the awd(both) came on. The closest auto dealership is 2hrs away.
The estimate I received to fix it was over 5000.00. This was basically putting all new
sensor modules in instead of resetting the computer. This dealership claimed they
didn't know anything about resetting the computer module. Just wanted alot of money.
Is it true I can take the neg. and pos. off the battery, touch them together for 10
seconds reconnect to battery and my lights will go off? It was on your forum.

Had a new battery put in would this have anything to do with the check engine light coming on.

Fix the problems and the lights will go away or use a bit of black electrical tape to hide the lights. Ignoring the lights may mean that your car dies but at least you won't have to look at those lights!
