2006 s60 Volvo shifter won't stay in automatic keeps moving to standard

Asked by Amber Aug 26, 2014 at 04:09 PM about the 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It feels like something is pushing the shifting stick into the
standard option when you pull back into drive. It won't stay
in drive for very long, it eventually skips over into standard
and then won't stay in drive if you try to move it back

Mine also does this. Havent had it oficially looked at yet. I had someone tell me it is the shift detensor? Small clip of some sort that holds the shifter in place. Let me know if you get yours figured out. Bever590@gmail.com
