Misfire on #5 in my 98 Tahoe 5.7 liter

Further investigation is required then. It could be a valve issue. Perform a cylinder pressure test, and or leak down test to see if that cylinder is lower than the others. Another culprit if the fuel injector. It could be leaking or clogged.
