Question type: General

My 2004 RX8  needs a new motor, should I sell it as is or fix it and sell it....   or keep it and
put in a new motor?  I love the car but am really not sure what I want to do.

A remanufactured engine isn't that pricey and comes with a warranty. It'll take some work and money but you'll be happy to have your car back.

Unless you can find someone that specializes in Wankel engines, the Dealer isn't a bad choice. Shop around if you can.

I talked to a dealer about my car and he said that it could be what he referred to as a 'wash down' ? Said that if someone put the sparke plugs in wrong it would act like it is.. and I may not need a new motor. He suggested I get a camera light and look at the apex seals to see if they look good... how do I look at them? I do not know where they are... The charge to fix that he said would be about $160.00 vs. a starting price of $5000.00 for them to rebuild or replace the motor..
