I have a 2003 Volkswagen passat and driving straight it will start to make a thumping noise in the front right tire and you can feel it through out the car. Turning right the nosie stops and the thummping stops, but turning left there is a grinding noise. hitting the brake sort of hard and accelerating stops the noise and the thumping. but it is getting worse. so my question is should i take it in or just replace the brakes myself and see if that helps.
replace brake pads + rotors if worn, if noise persists the next suspect is the wheel bearing
