2000 vr6 maintenance/ upgrades

Asked by Jettajeffgls May 17, 2016 at 11:18 AM about the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Pulled the motor out of my 2000 Jetta vr6 to
replace the tranny. While out what parts should I
replace because of the easy access. I'm thinking
timing chain guides, cooling hoses. It has 150,000
miles on it

I'm voting for the serpentine belt (all rubber, if you are thorough) and the water pump. Honorable mention for the Master Cylinder, spark plugs and ignition coils.
